Dr Seuss World War 2 Cartoons
Can some one explain this political cartoon to me?? please?

I know its Dr Seuss and something about joining world war 2

I suppose it means that we (the United States) thought we could stand back while the rest of world was at war and not get involved. So as we were “taking a nap” the Japanese snuck up on us and gave a “rude awakening” at Pearl Harbor. That’s my guess.
